NRG Introduction
Recognising the vital importance of partnership working, Edinburgh’s third sector organisations regularly squeeze precious time out of busy schedules to participate in a range of thematic and geographic partnership groupings.
Partner agencies have described the landscape of partnership working in Edinburgh as ‘cluttered,’ and – with constant pressures on finite third sector resources – engaging at the right level with the appropriate forums can be challenging.
To link neighbourhood-level networks of local Voluntary Sector organisations better with city-wide structures, a new group – the Neighbourhood Representatives’ Group – came together in July 2009. This group meets on a quarterly basis and has nominated its chair to serve on the Voluntary Sector Strategy Group, which – in turn – nominates third sector members to the Edinburgh Compact Partnership.
