The Scottish Youth Parliament has just launched its biggest EVER youth consultation ‘Picture the Change’ - please support this over the coming months by spreading the word far and wide to reach as many young people as possible!
The whole point of the Scottish Youth Parliament is to connect young people with decision-makers. In simple terms, tell politicians what young people think. So it's massively important that when they're talking to politicians they're telling them the right things (i.e. what Scotland's young people are passionate about). That's why every four years they’re committed to producing a 'manifesto' in the run up to the Scottish Parliament elections.
The consultation ‘Picture the Change’ is made up from ideas and statements produced by young people for young people, and it aims to seek views from a whopping 15,000 young people over the summer months! Not to mention as an incentive there will be two lucky participants who receive free shoes for a year (courtesy of Schuh)! So not a bad deal, the possibility of shoes, free for a year and the chance to make a difference. But you help is really needed to spread the word.
There’s a few things you or your organisation can do to support ‘Picture the Change’:
Hopefully that’s enough food for thought but if you need some more information don’t hesitate to check out the website or get in touch with Scottish Youth Parliament directly by email or on 0131 313 2488.
Happy change making!
